anyone have comments on how to install a clutch by yourself... on jack stands ? thinking of getting new flywheel or getting it machined or machining myself(work in my fathers CNC machine shop). ALSOOOOO should i get a Team Green Limited slip diff? need insight! thankss
Sorry, I just want to know if there is anything I need to know if I plan on driving my car in the winter when its s/c'd. I've seen people say "just don't hit boost" but thats not exactly a fool-proof solution. When its tuned I want it to be a very conservative and safe tune, but even then should I just have it tuned for winter specifically, then tuned for summer when spring rolls around? I'll have to contend with winter gas too (Ontario sucks....).

LoL on jack stands? Fuuuuuck that. I don't envy you. You have to drop the cradle to get the transmission out. That in itself is a PITA. Book time is like 8 hours, just to put it in perspective. Typically an experienced tech can get it done (with a hoist), alone, in about 6 hours or so (working at a decent pace, but not trying to set records
that was also with a lift, engine hoist, and air tools

Refinish should be fine. See if the place that does machining will do a swap for one already machined (Ottawa Clutch here in Ottawa does that. Speeds things up)

Quick question: is it beneficial to use an LSJ alternator when s/c'ing a 2.2? I know LSJ is one-way and 2.2 will work either way, but idk if that will fry the 2.2 alternator way sooner or not.

Follow-up question, do I need an alternator bracket or something from the LSJ? I've heard I do, but I'm not sure if its part of something else, or not necessary, or not even an actual piece lol

You need the tensioner bracket which goes in between the block and the alternator

No tap is needed.nor a drill although factory there are holes in the side of the rockers. You would need a drill and a step bit.Others like myself just popped in the bottom clips then used strong molding adhesive.
