open wastegate

Venom0713's Hahn stage 5 with open wastegate. 22 psi. No traction.

very nice lol.. also gotta love not having traction in 1st and 2nd anymore haha

also, just want to add.. i got up to 22.7 psi sometime during the course of the night lol

Yeah we made it external open wastegate. The way it comes is internally recirculated wastegate.

how hard is it to do? still using the 20g and all and same turbo mani or what?

get a wastegate flange welded onto the turbo manifold. remove the wastegate actuator from turbo

Still using 20g for now......

Normal turbo manifold just welded the flange on for the external gate.

Why weld it closed? Why not make something to hold the iwg closed?

I love it!!! open WG FTW! heres my s20g with 38mm tial knockoff, although see sig for whats in the mail!


the last video you can hear the 20g spool up pretty good!

nice, i honestly dont like it anymore lol.. its just way too loud. so next spring im going to have it recirc'ed. i think i like the sound of turbo spool better.

yeah but then you dont get the flow benefit, well not nearly as much, how long is your screamer pipe? mine is about 30in long incl the bends and it dumps below the firewall i know when it was just about 8-10in piece pipe it was loud as fu**

if you want ill dig up some pics of my set up.

but dont get me wrong i have thought numerous times about recirc mine too, especially since the new turbo is gonna sing like a fat lady at an opera lol :]

It extends to below the subframe.

I told him he shouldn't get rid of it but he doesn't listen to me. lol

It's only loud if your at full boost. How often are you at full boost? And I think it sounds ******' awesome and will always run an open wastegate for horsepower reasons and for sound reasons!
