I don't have many out side vids, plus my camera always makes my car sound super quiet.

I would just leave it dumped, normal driving you won't tell the diff. People have used dump tube mufflers if you end up not liking it.

Also got a question for people.
I don't want the exhaust on my car loud at all. Now I have my mind made up on it for the most part. Full 3" mandrel piping with a dynomax super turbo muffler. But I don't know if I want to go with an external WG Dump tube, or route it back into the piping. Obviously if I want it to be quiet, I should route it back into the exhaust. But I don't know if this is going to cause any kind of surge or overboosting issues.
Anyone got any experience on it? All the turbos I've used before have been internally gated, so this is a new territory for me.

Rali one thing you could always do is get a 3.5-4inch exhaust like some srt's and recirc it with no problems then. You cant make as much power with a recirc style keeping it only 3" but if you go bigger I wouldnt see a problem then

I think everyone can tell, I want the car pretty quiet if at all possible. If there are any noises, I'd rather it just be the whistle of the turbo instead of obnoxiously loud "BLAHHHHH".

Right now I'm just gathering all the parts to add this big honking turbo to the mix. So far I got the turbo all setup now, and the zzp manifold. So still a lot of parts to buy.
The head is basically done. I need to order cams and valve springs but the machining is all done.
The block just needs the sleeves installed. Unfortunately the block is still in the car which is in storage. So until I actually go pull it out, the machinest will just have to hold onto my sleeves.
I need a heavy duty clutch too.
That's where I'm at right now.
As for exhaust, I might just buy some mandrel bent pieces and weld it all together myself. I've take a few welding classes here in Germany and it's not that hard to do.

thanks, I'll keep that under consideration. I'll just try a dump for now, but if I don't like it, I'll go to a bigger exhaust and recirculation.

Dr. Gas is exactly who I was planning to order pipes from. I tried to do **** locally back in Nebraska, but it was too difficult. Most exhaust shops tried to give me the "press bent is just as good as mandrel bent" bullshit. So that's why I figured I'd do it myself this time. I'll probably buy ZZP's downpipe, but the rest I'll make myself.

Update!!!! 20 December 2010
So I went and picked up my zzp manifold from the post office today. This is the same manifold that Ryan made 510whp/421wtq twincharged with before going straight turbo and still on the stock head. It's got a 44mm Vband Wastegate flange and a EGT bung already. He made me a good deal on it so I couldn't pass it up. I think this is one of the last tube-welded manifolds that zzp is going to sell also because he told me they are going to cast log manifolds soon. I didn't have anything to hold the massive HOLSET up on the manifold, so I used a pair of plyers to help hold it up on the manifold. LOL
First up, the ZZP manifold
Now the Mighty Holset Mounted test mounted (with plyers help holding the beast up, lol)
Finally, check out the less than finger width gap between the compressor cover and manifold.
Once again, this is just test fitting for pictures, nothing more.

Yea, D1sclaimer is one of my closest friends. He is looking over my car back in Nebraska while I'm stationed here in Germany.
Found out today that the hotside I bought is a .70a/r if anyone cares to know. Same size hotside that Ryan used on his twincharged cobalt at ZZP.

wait you're twin charging? Now i'm extremly interested to see how this turns out. I've heard they're fairly difficult to tune for. Are you going to tune it yourself? And when do you come back to nebraska to get you car?
#150
I'm going to be driving up to Michigan to let ZZP tune the car since they have the best experience with twincharging. They'll be using my laptop, so I'll just get them to show me everything to do so I can become confident myself in playing with the tune of such a monster.
I return from my deployment on the 4th of July. I'll be flying back to nebraska asap from there and probably be in nebraska for 3weeks or so depending of if I hit any bumps on the road to recovery.
Anyone have any reccomendations on Intercoolers? I really don't want to spend a **** load of money, but I don't want a pressure dropping piece of **** either.
