Ran into a few SRT4s on the Weekend

Damn man thats an awesome pic
Looks like the SRT-4's are bug eyed creatures hovering around their pray, while the Cobalt looks like its ready to defend itself and kick some ass
Did you by any chance run any of the SRT-4's while you were at the cruise?? If you did, I'd like to hear the results

Looks like the Cobalt is saying "Bring it..." and the SRT-4's are like "You don't stand a chance.. Give up."
I wonder what each of those SRT4s are running? Eesh.

I would love to see a shot at dusk like this with all the headlights on.

i never ran any of those guys on the cruise
however, i have ran one of them and he pulled easily on me. From a roll we were dead even
the one in the back with the cf hood is voodoosrt (on here) hes my bud and hes running 261 hp and 316 tq.. Its a beast
most of them are modded in some form or fashion, whether it be just small mods or stage 1

mines the blue one in the back with the c/f rice. lol
as for runnin us. he did on the highway once, and lost. and then he went from a stop with one the other day, and i dont know how he did.
ive come across one in my travels..... off the line he had me by about 1/2 car length at the end of first. THEN I GOT SOME TRACTION. and by the end of second i had about 3-4 car lengths then i shut down, coz there was no point continuing. granted my car is not stock though.

Mine is the silver one peeking in on the left. See, Cobalt's and SRT-4s can get along. On our cruise Jase and I stuck together as the responsible drivers.
I was waiting to see the Stage 1 picture. Couldn't resist sticking it on there.

Good to see that the domestics are "Playing nice"
That's about what mine was running before the turbo upgrade. 272whp/296tq, I actually got rid of that initial boost spike inherent w/ aftermarket WGA and MBC's, but it also lost that "peak tq spike" as well. I could, however, hammer it in 2nd and not smoke the tires... having the torque curve come on smoother does help with traction.
Here's a dyno chart
BTW, Water Injection is definitely worth it. I went back to the dyno after the water injection was installed. I didn't tune for higher boost (time) but it did make 3 more hp at 2psi lower boost (15 vs 17) in 15 deg warmer weather.
Compare that to what I'm making after the turbo upgrade. Chart here. This is with the boost controller set to increase boost as rpm increases (kinda like a supercharger). I'm going back in a few weeks and will be tweaking the boost controller setting it up to come on to full boost sooner.
It's still "just a Neon" though .

dont tell voodooSRT all this good news cause he'll want it. I already talked him out of stage 2 and 3 cause he doesnt NEED to go faster (its more of a want for him lol)
he said that he'll get stage 3 when his stock turbo blows though
i am very impressed with those numbers
ALMOST makes me want an SRT
i'll see if i can get a good dusk shot one day too

Stage III + Water Injection + Big FMIC = High Octane Mode ON w/ "pump gas"
Good fun. My GT30BB turbo spools up just about as fast as the stage III cars here, and with the AVC-R I have the "Dial-a-boost" type functionality, even the gear dependent boost. I'll be hitting the track this Thursday night w/ DOT slicks to see if I can get it to hook up. Looking for low 12's.
With the HP I had before (and voodooSRT does) high 12's are possible, I just could not get the traction w/ the street tires and was having problems with the slicks rubbing the struts at the top end of the track. I had virtually the same MPH at the 1/8 with both street tires and slicks, but was trapping 107-108 on the street tires and 99-100 on the slicks. (Still managed a 13.3 tho, would have been high 12's for sure if the slicks weren't dragging... ) Best I ran on the stock turbo was a 13.3@100 with the slicks and 13.5@108 with the street tires.

245/40R17's fit on 17x8" wheels w/ a 35mm offset

I do get a little rubbing, only in the front, when hitting certain bumps just right. I also have the Hotchkis Lowering Springs... before I put those on, I had no problems rubbing. I've been looking at where it is rubbing and I believe if I have the fenders rolled (pro shop, no baseball bat junk) the rubbing will stop.
With those, on the street I was able to roll into it in 1st, with minimal tire squealing, WOT shift to 2nd, get a single bark and then hook up and take off. The only thing better than making 270whp is USING 270whp
As for the strip, I feel your pain. Our tracks a never prepped on street night; I get my best times when I go out there for a big event when they have truely fast cars (quicker than 9.00), then the track is well prepped. I had a set of BFG G-Force Drag Radials (225/50R15's) and w/ 270whp on street night I could barely manage 2.1 60's; during race events I managed some 1.9's with 'em. The car was definitely much easier to launch when it was stock I got 2.0 60's on Street Night w/ the stock Sport Pilots (2003).

My Hotchkis are about 1" in front and 2" in back. I have no problems out back at all.
