Spring Detail!!! Pics woo hoo!!!!

Well with the big midwest meet comming up this saturday, I wanted to get my car looking good! Today was the only day I had to clean up the balt so I took full advantage of it, this is what I did.

Starting time: 9:15am / Finish time:3:05pm
1. Wash car with 75% dish soap, 25% regular carwash soap. ( I used dish soap to reomove all the wax that was on the car)
2. Dry the car with GOOD quality Micro Fiber towls.
3. Pull car into the garage or shaded area to get the paint cool to the touch.
4. Clay Bar the entire car
5. Use scratch X on any stubborn scratches
6. Meguiars step 2 polish (used to remove fine scratches and swirls)
7. Meguiars step 3 carnauba wax
8. Meguiars Gold Class Paste Wax
9. Remove one wheel at a time, Use a degreaser or wheel cleaner to clean inside and outside of wheels. Now is a perfect time to rotate your tires also .
10. Put wheels back on and wipe off any water marks
11. Wax wheels ( you can do this with the wheels off the car if you would like)
12. Tire shine (Be sure to do this in the garage with the door closed, I hate nothing more than having tire shine on my paint )
13. Take pics and show them off for CSS.net to see

Products used (Laptop and Ipod = Music!!!)

Step 14. Hide car in garage untill the midwest meet because it is about to rain. Take beater to work.

The car gets lowered saturday at the midwest meet!! WOO HOO!! I know that the pics SUXZOR, I was not about to take the car out for a drive to get better pics with dark clouds rolling in.

My front end took a beating also from all the salt and sand . I dont even drive the balt if there is snow on the roads but even after it all melts there is still a ton of sand and salt on the roads.

Its not too bad once you get started. It takes alot of time but the results are well worth it.

Clay barring is very easy... just remember to keep the cars surface wet (with water or detail spray) cause the clay will stick to the paint!
