when a car is totaled, you don't own it anymore. you cant just walk in and take the **** off. as of right now the car hasn't been totaled yet but im just gonna get so screwed on this considering the blue book is like 5500 for the car.

Damn man that sucks, glad you and your passengers are alright tho. I assume she got the ticket or at least something for running the stop. While there really isnt a ton of damage its totalled, the rails are bent over and the rad support is to far damaged. And since is a Cobalt its not worth a whole lot. Sorry man, time to start TC shopping or Camaro maybe...
Thats not 100% correct. When the airbags deploy yes there expensive and most of the time they send the repairs cost over the value or close to it which totals it. But it depends on the value of the vehicle, airbags deployed dooes not automatically mean its totalled. A couple of weeks ago I looked at a 2007 Acura TL hit in the front heavy damage and airbags deployed and I authorized it for repairs. Then again on friday looked at a 2006 Buick Allure (LaCrosse down there for you ) again hit in the front airbags deployed and right now I'm working on the paperwork to authorize repairs. Not ragging on anyone but it gets under my skin when I see someone say if the airbags went off or the unibodys bent or a rails bent or the roof is buckled thats its automatically a total, when thats not always the case.

i just found out today that i might get what i payed for the car from insurance ($10,000) because this **** that hit me was young and had already totaled another car this year. i also got the wheels and intake off the car, so they will be up for sale soon. i may get the exhaust off later too
