OK, so today I was on my way to work and I was thinking about my transmission and how it didn't feel like it had any issues. All of a sudden as I accelerated from a red light, as it was shifting from 1st to 2nd(Automatic) it felt like it was going to surge forward. Not really sure how to describe that. When I got to work I shifted from drive to park, park to drive, drive to reverse. From park to reverse there is a small clunk. Shifting from R to N then to D there was a louder clunk of the same kind.

The surge from 1st to 2nd continued as I made my way to work, I didn't get to test it any further driving in a city so I'm not sure if that will happen on the highway.

I've been told so far to check the fluid in the transmission but would the issue really lie there? If that's fine where should I go with that?
