08 ss/tc noises and interior rattles
wow, i have about 1500 miles on my car and it already sounds like its going to fall apart. the main culprit seems to be the sunroof which i seem to notice is pretty common, but there are also some noises that seem to come from the doors, primarily it sounds like the latches clanking when i hit certain bumps. its really annoying and i was wondering if anyone else had heard similar things? this type of stuff should defnitely not happen on a brand new car. but i love the car otherwise

i have an annoying rattle somewhere in my car. i though it was the head rest but it wasnt. then i thought it was the headliner where it comes into the a pillar by the doors but it wasnt. no sunroof so it wasnt that. took off the door panels and it wasnt that. took out both seats and drove around the block wasnt that. the only thing i can think of is that its in the seatbelt mechanism somewhere

hmmmmmmmmm your first post is a bad one..... Its not a quite car by any means, if you want
that you should try a Lexus, Mercedes, BMW etc etc.... I just tend to overlook all little noises.....

ive owned 4 gm cars. my last car was a 93 z28 and while it made noises it was 15 years old and the noises were only split second and only in certain instances. for a couple month old car i would have expected it to stay together longer than the 6 weeks ive owned it

Mine 08 rattles less than my 06 did...I guess I can be thankful for that.
It's quiet for the most part - you do hear a couple little things over rough roads, but nothing too intrusive.

I have a 2DR G5, and my car rattles and squeaks badly. Most of the rattles and squeaks are coming from the tail lights.
GUYS>>>CHECK YOUR TAIL LIGHTS. At the top of mine, where they meet the body, they are actually RUBBING THE PAINT OFF! There is also a LOUD clang coming from the left rear of the car over bumps.
This is its 4th visit back to the dealer. Right now it is in the body shop. They are trying to make the tail lights fit the car properly.
I bought it brand new in August and it has 2200 miles on it.
2008 G5.....4 times.....2200 miles. The problem is really tough to figure out but I am pretty much tired of this F*&@#(%G car already.
:O( Sorry to thread jack you dude.

Your engine and tranny should be OK ( so long as u dont get a faluty MAF like mine did ), but all the stupid little things will annoy you. I dont know why GM makes a great tranny, engine, and suspension, but then stupid little crap falls apart or goes funny...

My 1st bad rattle started at 1500 miles.
It was kind of a squeaking sound coming from the passenger side. I started looking for it and found that the passenger side door was the cause of it. Took it to the dealer and they found that the striker plate was cracked and they replaced it.
That fixed that one.
Both outside mirrors will rattle a bit on rough roads. My 92 Camaro did this and I was able to fix that by taking the mirrors off and putting some small rubber cushions on the back side of the mirror.
I have what sounds like paper flapping in the wind sound coming from under the shifter and one of the back seats rattles just a bit.
I do think that the road noise from the tires is a little loud at times.
If you think the Cobalt is bad you should try driving a 63 Ford F100 pickup sometime.
