I have a broken 2.2 engine and I have available to me a cheap slightly used 2.4 engine that came out of an 07' HHR.

I've been researching and can't find much about it, but what different would I need for my cobalt If I were to put the 2.4 ecotec in instead of the 2.2?

New ECU? Or anything?

I would gues its a identical motor other than the piston and cyl size,all connectors and harness should plug right in.
But the tune for the 2.4 will be different,you should get the ecm and the harness with the motor though to be on the safe side.

i do believe that the ecu/bcm is different and for sure that the tb connectors are different. on is 6 pin and one is an 8 pin. I'm not too much help but hopefully someone else will chime in. lol
