2006 Cobalt SS/SC 2.0L - New battery, no power, no start
Hi there,
Long story short, I go medical school away from home. I left my car at home for my family to start up once and awhile and take care of. Guess what, they didn't. Had a really dead battery when I got home. BUT the whole great thing about it is that they put in on a charger for two whole days before I got home, with the extension cord hanging out the trunk, and it rained like crazy. As I'm sure you can guess, the trunk was flooded with water. Now the car won't start. There is no power at all when the key is in the ignition. NOTHING happens when the key is turned. No power to the accessories, no crank, nothing. I replaced the battery, scrubbed the corrosion off the connections to the terminals. Same thing. I tried to jump it awhile back and it did nothing. All the appropriate fuses are fine. Need to check the starter relay, I guess. Any other suggestions? Getting pretty frustrated - last thing I want to do on my break from med school is struggle with my car. Thanks guys, appreciate the time.
P.S. Sorry to say that car electronics are NOT my strong suit
