2006 cobalt ss/sc idling problem in rain
I owned this car a few years ago. It had engine problems due to the timing chain skipping a couple teeth and bending the valves in one cylinder.
The shop took 2 years to find an engine for it after I traded it in, apparently it's not easy to get a decent lsj priced reasonably.
Anyways I bought the car back a few days ago for $4,000. It has 66k miles and the engine has probably around 77k miles.
It's been driving fine until today when it started raining. Now it's idling up and down and rough when it does stay constant. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for things to check/replace that might fix this. The car drives good at speed and on the highway in the rain. It did die a couple times at stop lights though.
I installed the stage 2 gm kit and an injen intake. The new engine has a stock supercharger and I don't know what injectors are on it. If it would have shipped with a fuel rail and injectors or if they used what was on the car. I plan on setting it back to stage 2 with the 2.8 pulley I had on it or get a 2.9 to be safe.

It's still got the computer/tune for the stage 2. It was just the engine that came with a supercharger that was changed. I'm going Monday to talk to the mechanic that pulled and installed the new engine. I've also seen one connector hanging down on the drivers side roughly where the intake is. I need to figure out what that is also.
The shop gave me the original supercharger back with the stage 2 snout and 2.8 pulley I was running.
I traded my beat up 2010 cobalt ls and $2,200 for the car rather than just pay the $4k I was going to give him for the car. I still have a back up car should it be needed.
I'll check on the maf for sure, the 2010 cobalt had a bad one that caused misfiring in hot weather.
