2006 cobalt ss/sc transmission drain and fill bolts
So my 2006 ss/sc has close to 20,000 miles on but it still suffers from the clunky shifting that seems to plague everybody else's car as well. So during my service weekend I change the air filter that was fun (sarcasm) changed the fuel filter that was fun too my arm took a gas bath.
And I wanted to change out the transmission oil also to maybe attempt to clean up the shifting. I made sure to read every single transmission thread, and boy does it seem like we are torn with what fluid to use I guess it comes down to personal preference. I ended up putting royal purple max gear 75-90 full synthetic in it. I know some people going to hate while others say that's ok but it was on super sale at the parts store.
So sorry about the long drawn explanation but no matter how long and hard I looked I couldn't find any torque specs for the drain and fill bolts I know they were a pain to get off so I made sure I put them back on as tight as I could. I don't think you could get a torque wrench in there anyway, so do you guys just do the tight as possible method and call it good?
