AEM UEGO wideband sensor location
I just purchased the AEM UEGO wideband and i was reading over the instructions
instructions call for the sensor to be located on the exhaust atleast 18 inches from exhaust ports..
I have the Clear Image Header and Downpipe with hi flo cat and the O2 bungle for the sensor is located after the cat and it says to have it located before the cat to be accurate..there is a spot to plug the O2 sensor on the header but it is only about 12 inches from the exhaust ports.. Would it be ok to run the sensor for the wideband here? anyone else have this problem? or should i just mount it after the cat? I do not want to drill into a brand new downpipe to mount a sensor inbetween the Cat and the header...

how much would this cost? and if i just decided to put the wideband uego sensor in the headers O2 spot..would this be a terrible idea since its only 12 inches away as oppose to 18? bc i reallllly dont wnna drill into and weld a new spot for the wideband..since the DP is brand new
the thing thats killin me is the hi flo cat.. the 02 bungle is right after it..so if i were to put the wideband sensor in that i guess it would throw off the readings and it wouldnt be accurate

Ruh roh.... The O2 bung for the wideband needs to be before the cat. If not you're wideband will read lean.
For me, I just placed the wideband where the rear O2 sensor used to be on my catless downpipe. Had to do a rear O2 delete through HPT. That's about it.

yeah it says that it needs to be mounted before cat or itll throw it off and i figured it would read it lean..so if i used the O2 bungle on the header..12 inches away it wouldnt kill the sensor and i could use HPTuners to delete that O2 sensor??

just one.. right after the hi flo cat.. Clear Image Atuo DP
im really frowning upon drilling and welding into a brand new DP which hasnt even been on the car yet..cuz i waited 11 weeks for this and my header..and if somethin were to go wrong with it.. id freak
what would the consequences of putting the wideband sensor in the front O2 sensor spot be? would it read wrong? or just go bad quicker..
cuz in the manual it doesn't say that it'll read wrong if closer than 18 inches...the temps could just get too hot for it..and make it go bad quicker..so id assume itd be better to go with this O2 sensor than the one after the cat which could have an inaccurate reading

the front 02 sensor is what the car reads and mixes your air fuel i believe. the rear just tells you if your cats efficient or not. which you can turn off with HPT. just drill into your dp as much as you dont want to, if something happens to your dp such as you want to sell it or you sell your wideband and still want your DP you can thread any bolt into the whole to plug it, or if you sell it its a selling point to anyone on this website looking for a dp to already have a wb bung already tapped.

I would strongly suggest if the pipe were that important to you (which it is to all of us), but I mean to be error free, you should mount that pipe and make sure it is going to be where it isn't hitting the tunnel.
If something were to go terribly wrong, they do have plugs for those, but yeah, it looks ugly. So... I would mount the pipe, mark a spot where I wanted the bung welded and then take it off.
