Air Conditioning Problem

Question about my dads Chevy Malibu Classic (late 90's). The AC will constantly turn itself off. We turn it back on and it turns off like 5 minutes later or so, Sometimes it works just fine. Any ideas at all? Thanks in advance

Usually when it kicks on and then right back off it's a pressure issue. If it does blow cold air you might want to check the pressure switch...

U can jump the switch with a paper clip if it doesnt cut back off u know the switch is bad. If it blows cold while working it isnt the charge
