Annoying AC fan noise...

When my fans are blowing at any speed, it makes this intolerable and embarrassing whirring noise. Any idea what this is, and how to fix it? Can I fix it myself?

Mine used to be like this; it would buzz on the first setting, so I would turn it up to the second and it would be indeed barely audible.

However, it's recently gotten worse and is very audible in both the 1 and 2 settings.

Solutions, please, I'll be very grateful.

Mine is this - a quiet but audible squeak on level 1. Can't hear it over music or anything, but if I want to drive in silence (or listen to the symphony under the hood), then I have to kill the fan or go insane. Level 2 and up is nothing but the regular fan noise.

You can pull the blower motor and lube it, or deal with it

You have to remove the cover(break off plastic heat rivets) theres nuts under that, then you need to remove the nuts and cut out the blower. Or you can spray some electrical llube in their. Ive used CRC Switch lube with good results, also several different brands of dry film lubes.

its the blower motor, you can pull it out and replace it, the dealership did mine, although they replaced it and said that when they turned it on the pulley made the shroud go square like so they replaced that too. They had my car for 4 days!!!

Mine does this too, annoying as hell. It's pretty bad on 1, 2 is still kinda annoying, and 3 and 4 are usually fine. Drives me insane. Warranty fix?

No wonder GM is dying with bullshit like this. If things were built properly and not so cheaply maybe they'd retain more customers. I know this seems counter intuitive because cheaply built means more profit, however, repeat customers mean more (I believe).

Our 2007 does this too. it started on setting 1, and then progressed to setting 2. Now it's starting to do it on setting 3.

It's going to go in soon and I want to see what the dealer has to say.

thanks for the solution Maven

Sometimes it's bad enough that I don't drive with the heat on, even when it's 0*

Card in spokes noise is almost always **** in the fan......pull your cabin filter and use a mirror to see if any debris made its way down into the fan, that WONT be covered under warranty.
