battery died. now no gauges. low boost. and alarm wont stop
as the title says. i put my car in sorage for the winter. i left it a little over a month and went out to start it and the battery was dead. so i put a booster pack on it and as soon as i did my alarm started going off. so i got in my car and started it, removed the battery pack and let it run..after about 10 minutes the alarm stopped but as soon as i opened my door it started again.
now as it sits, gauges dont work. alarm still goes off when i open the door. car isnt boosting over 6 psi. what do i do?
in the middle of all this i unhooked my battery and left it unhooked for 30-50 minutes and re connected and everything works fine. but then i parked it for another week and it happened again.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the battery voltage before you boost it,might have a dead cell and not putting out 12 volts.(2 volts per cell,6x2=12)
Alot of times one cell will go bad and you will read 10 volts which could cause weird things to happen.
Best thing would be is to have the battery tested it should last more than a week!
If your going to leave it all winter get a trickle charger that will keep the battery charged.
A dead battery will freeze and be ruined.

I'm afraid I am unable to assist with proving technical advice, but see that you're already getting some great feedback. A while back there was a thread about winter storage, and I asked our Technical Assistance Center about any recommendations on how to store vehicles. They sent me back the following:
"Per page 5-40 of the Owners Manual General Motors advises the following:
Extended Storage: For extended storage of the vehicle,
remove the black, negative cable from the battery or
use a battery trickle charger. This helps maintain the
charge of the battery over an extended period of time.
For any other possible concerns, if vehicle maintenance schedule found in section 6 of the owners manual is followed this will be the best course for customer in preventing any concerns if vehicle is stored. If customer is inclined they may want to start vehicle monthly and run 5-10 minutes, however, this is not required per General Motors."
If you were to want to speak with GM of Canada for Customer Assistance, I would recommend contacting them at 800-263-3777. They're available M -F 7:30am - 11:30pm, Sat 7:30am - 6:00 EST.
Have a great holiday weekend,
