I've been having this problem for months now. Getting out of first gear at around 2000-3000rpm I hear a ticking/rattling noise. At first I thought it was the timing chain tensioner so I had my mechanic replace the whole timing set. The serpentine belt & tensioner were also replaced. After that I still heard the noise. Was pissed that i spent all that money for no reason and the noise was still there. Drove with it for a month or so and did more research and concluded that it was the belt tensioner. Put a screwdriver up to it and i could hear it rattle like hell.


So I go over to the shop and show the mechanic who replaced it. He says he sees fluid coming out of it so he will replace it for free. I'm convinced that's the noise at that point. Get it replaced and go over to get my car. I get my car back and at first it sounds quiet.. No noise and then by the next day again its very loud again. I'm stumped to as what this noise is coming from. I checked it again after the replacement and it looks like the tensioner is still moving a little side to side and it does sound like the noise is still coming from there when i use a screwdriver. I searched all over and couldn't find much on this... Does anyone have any input??

Noise---
Loud ticking/clicking/rattling
Only when revved
Starts at 1700rpm-ish
Louder when driving
Only happens when gas is applied lightly it seems

I'm completely stumped at this point so if anyone could help that'd be great.
