blew my engine

guess I can say I'm the first 2.2 board member to blow his engine. to those keeping up with the previous thread the car made a light rattle kinda like the wheel on wheel of fortune. the techs at sunrise reworked the top half putting 6 grand into the engine and yet it still made the noise. I was told to drop it off tomorrrow but the bottom blew out sending rods and **** down the expressway. hows that for a service problem?

it was making a strange rattling sound months ago. at least thats when it started. took it in for service almost two months ago. they give me the car about two weeks ago after 6 g's in repaires to the top half and it still had the rattle only it got worse. on my way home from work saturday i was on the e-way and the noise got louder and a split second later i hear my car falling apart literally dumping its guts out on the road.

Sorry to hear about your troubles but more than likely, it's not a common issue and you just got the bad egg of the bunch. Good luck though.

Merged and moved. Just one thread please.

You say they spent 6 grand? I assume a warranty repair? If it was that much, they should have just put a new engine in it to start with. That would only cost them $3000.

BTW: I blew my first engine November 2005.

you expected to keep up with the gti? And if it was a V6 accord thats probably why it won. gti isn't really in our league and well depending on what type of honda it was...it may or not be in the same league either. be patient man you wait for tuning and get that charger on there....you'll be good as gold

I guess man Im just pissed I have been waiting for tuning to long and feel like Im traped with a slug Im used to being pushed back into my seat.

I wast to upset with the GTI because it was the 1.8T. But the accord now that was bad, ya it was a v6 but still Ive never owned a car that has been beaten by a honda.

No offense to you or anything but this is something you should have looked into BEFORE you bought the car. And in your condition, why are you suprised you lost to those vehicles?

When did you hear the sound? Cold starts, idling, revving, etc?

I have that same sound on cold starts. I figure it to be injectors, but I just want to be sure.

Ok...maybe you're not putting 1 and 1 together like I am...

Why do you own one then if you feel that Chevys suck in quality?
