Why do you own one then if you feel that Chevys suck in quality?
Maybe he gets employee discount?

Maybe he suffers from the classic "foot in mouth" syndrome.

I have that same sound on cold starts. I figure it to be injectors, but I just want to be sure.

Well yes I own one. I do think the quality is shitty. I've had many problems with mine. I've had the motormounts replaced multiple times. Both door panels have been replaced and they are getting replaced again. The painted panels are skim coated and cant handle a year of use (spots where paint is coming off that dosn't get touched). My breakes had a problem where they were staying applied when i wasn't touching them. There's a knock coming from the front passanger side now too. Oh yea. Spoilers loose, exhaust rattles. But i cant say the quality is crap....

I have a love hate relationship with my car....

no offense man but is yours an automatic? maybe you're just not that great of a driver. if you're talking about an older gti, then yeah, i've owned one on the highway AND an older jetta 1.8t. i've been beat by an accord...who had full bolt ons and nitrous...and barely lol.

nova we are building should be a 10 sec car. motor should be here thurs-friday. or at least thats what the shop told us this time. i dont agree with how were building it... tore up an original 67 nova ss and built it into a racecar. he shoulda done that to a normal 67 nova and built the ss back to factory specs.

Ouch u guys cut up a 67 SS car, i woulda looked for a coupe dam. Seems alot of 68-72's were drag cars too , everytime i go to the drags i always see atleast 2-3 of em. My 72 SS still has an 8 point cage in it from when i "rescued" it from the beating it was takin, without the frame tied together even . Me and my dad redid the car when i was in high school (earily 90's) , i put a 427 pump gas motor in it with a rockcrusher and used it as my daily driver for about 3 years .

Waaaa

So tired of the "should have restored it to stock" comment. On my hearse board where I'm a regular, I'm shunned because I have a "modified" hearse. They only like cars returned to stock. It gets like romper room over there because the stockers are babys. They whine and whine about cars on ebay going off to get modified all the time.

Modified cars FTW!

Perhaps a rod or the crank, might explain the noise, you said they did top work and it didn't help, and it blew out the bottom.
