Blower Motor Fan Speed Issue
Hello all,
Before i start thanks for coming and taking a look here. I have recently been working on my Blower motor as it was not working at all. Yesterday my buddy and i found that the connector before the one that connects to blower motor was melted and burned. We replaced that with inline wire crimps eliminating that plastic connector which is on the internet and here as a faulty and bad connector. As soon as we did this Fan speed 4 started working again. Now i know from my research that the Blower motor resistor controls fan speeds 1-3 and that 4 just bypasses resistor so i went to autozone and purchased a new resistor thinking that was the issue. when i installed the resistor it did not change anything Fan speeds 1-3 still did not work. The only other thing in that system that has been replaced was the fan speed selector switch itself which i found out online is the same part as many other chevy's. As it does not interface with the control unit at all its seperate in and out. Does anyone have advice on what else i can check to see why i am not getting fan speeds 1-3.

It’s the blower motor resistor still
It’s the Blower Motor Resistor. The duralast crap at Autozone is probably bad. Buy the AC Delco one. Especially if you already replaced the switch itself. The duralast stuff AZ sells is ****. Usually you are buying a returned item, etc. I went thru 3 of them before I said screw it. I’m sure you either figured it out of sold the car but this is for future people with this problem.
