No didn't do that trick, but as soon as I got home I got under the car best I could and they're still on my end tanks. I'm hoping the intercooler blew somewhere and it's not my pipes or couplers. I got a buddy that can weld my intercooler if I need it.

Already have the forged BPV, just not the new one. And that's exactly what it sounds like. Just sucks because I had planned on going to Oregon for the holidays to visit family. Looks like I'm going to get a new turbo installed before Thanksgiving. I'm fully bolted so I should be good to go. Just my luck

I read up on ICs blowing up. The welds seem to be a BIG issue, not only for our cars. There is some extra stress put on the IC where the ends aren't allowed to flex as much. Also the stresses on the front end of the car are just transferred to the IC. If the car isn't low and constantly scraping/ hitting rocks, and your not a ******* that hits every parking lot bumper, what could be the other cause of an IC blowing up? Is there some sort of bumper brace that Cobalts can use?

Just shitty welds during the manufacturing process probably. I had the intercooler on my car for 2 days before I lost boost. But I'd love to have a cracked intercooler rather than have a blown turbo.

Ya I'm taking the car to my buddies shop and will probably pull the bumper apart to check the intercooler. But After hearing that sound clip Cobe posted I'm worried that it's my turbo. If it is the turbo then I'm going to order the ZFR and have it overnighted, see if I can install it this weekend, or some time next week.

This problem sounds an awful lot like my buddy's 240sx (SR20DET swap) who had his wastegate actuator jammed open. We changed that and everything was gravy there on after. Check to see if the BPV on your car is fine (no cracks) and go from there. I've never worked on a Cobalt before but it sounds an awful lot like BPV issues or a boost leak but most probably not a blown turbo. Blown turbos usually tend to blow white/bluish smoke through the exhaust. Good luck and let me know how it goes
