BOOM... engine dies, HELP!
Ok, so on my way to work, I am 300ft from the parking lot, and I pull up next to my friend at a light. I thought I'd be an ass and just take off.
5000rpm.. and.... BOOM, engine dies, and I,m scared. It rolls to the next light, and try to start it back up. It fires right up, and I have no CEL or anything.
Now I don't know where the pump is actually located in the tank (although I could pull it up pretty quick) but I have almost no gas in my tank (maybe a gallon). I am hoping that I just starved the pump while taking off, it ran lean at 5000rpm, backfired, and engine died. That's what I am hoping. I am going to check at lunch and make sure the rest of the car is happy. After I started it back up, and give it a little gas, and it seemed fine like nothing happened. No smoke, no nothing.
What do you guys think? I don't mind tearing it down and checking it all out, but I am 40min from home!
I have my HPT cable in my car, but not my laptop. I'd feel more comfortable driving it, if I could log it.

yep, just saw that. I am pretty sure i just starved it, which killed the engine, and the unburnt fuel ignited in my exhaust. Not too big of a deal if that is indeed what happened.
I was 1/2 way looking for an excuse to tear into my engine a month early though, lol
