Boost Problems, I need help.

2006 SS/SC... Only pulling about 4.5 psi. Replaced the vac lines, replaced the bypass solenoid, oiled the bypass valve. Originally threw a P0033 code which has to do with the bypass solenoid. Any ideas?

Try taking off the vac line that goes to the bypass valve and plug it. If boost comes back then the valve is no good. Make sure the valve is pushed fully closed before trying it.

Done that. Bottom line on the bypass valve to the solenoid, plugged it and boost came back. Took the valve completely off today, added pressure/vacuum to the valve and it functioned. It seemed like it took a lot but worked. You still thinking the valve?

Thanks for helping with my problem too on my 06 SS/SC, that was it but I'm still unsure which way is fully closed? It sits on a catch thing when the motors off so I assume that is closed? Mine opens if so, when I start the engine.

Previously was only getting 5-8 psi max at 5-6k rpms, now getting 13-14 psi & all stock besides cold air intake.

Bump.

My car is also throwing P0033 for the bypass solenoid, but I'm getting zero boost. When disconnecting the line from the solenoid to the actuator, the actuator opens and boost returns but only to about 5-6 psi.

Im also throwing codes for bank 1 being too lean (P0171) and MAF sensor being intermittent (p0101).

I have swapped the bypass solenoid and the EVAP solenoid right next to it. Now I'm thinking it's the MAF sensor but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

So I went to swap out the MAF and noticed the intake pipe was rubbing on the body down into the fender well and wore a hole in the aluminum on the CAI. So that would explain the top lean codes and intermittent MAF. I'm still at a loss for why I keep pulling P0033 and have no boost.

been 8 years but I’m having the same code problem. Any fix?

I have a 06 cobalt SC and I'm having a similar issue; except I'm not getting any power to the electrical plug that goes to the bypass solenoid

I've tried plugging the line that goes from the bypass valve to the solenoid and plugging it at end where it goes to the solenoid, and I've tried it backwards and all I'm getting is that the engine is just revs up, but I can hear the SC sound weak, or choke and the engine wants to cut of

I've also tried to plug the line from the manifold to the solenoid and no luck there

what are your guy's thoughts??
