"BRAKE" Light and "BRAKE FLUID" Hard Turns and Short Stops
So i just noticed today that when I made a hard/quick stop or a hard turn, the DIC would read, "BRAKE FLUID", the "BRAKE" light would come on and there would be a chime.
Anyone know why this is happening?

Are you low on brake fluid? I had a car that did the same thing. Turns out that on level ground it was right on the line where the sensor was. Braking hard was enough to make it read low and as soon as you stopped it would shut back off.

I hate to bump an age-old thread, but...
As of today, I'm getting a similar problem. I seem to have all the braking power I've always had, and I have four new pads and rotors as of August/September when I purchased it, but on hard turns the brake fluid indicator and brake light come on for 1-3 seconds.
I don't seem to have any leaks (at least that I could find today). The car is coming up on 53k miles and I don't know if the brake fluid system has ever been flushed. Could it be that my level has just gone down a bit over a long period of time?
This is on an 06 SS/SC if it matters.

From what I can see (not much in the dark), it looks like my fluid is really dark / dirty. No clue where the fill line is at in the dark, but I'll see if I can drag it in to a dealership this weekend I suppose... it's just scary because it seems to be driving just fine, but I really don't want a sudden brake failure on my (new to me) car.

Also, I'm reading that the manual states it isn't wise to top off the brake fluid in these cars...? What? Is it just some sort of "go see your dealer so we can make more money" deal or is there some truth to it? My pads should be pretty damn close to new looking as far as wear level goes, so my guess is the dealership I bought the car from never bothered to top it off when they did the work.

Well, I looked the best I could during my lunch today... I parked it in a well paved lot after slamming the brakes a few times and pumped em a bit. Came back out after eating and looked and couldn't find a drop of anything under or around the car/tires/rims.

I had this problem for a while and it got so bad that when I put my brakes on they wouldn't come off by themselves I had to pull them up with my foot before I got on the accelerator. Come to find out my master cylinder and brake fluid cylinder was gone and I had to replace both. Good news is that when I did I just went to the junk yard and pulled some parts and changed it myself and it only costed me 100 for the whole process but I purchased brakes too (from autozone) ..
