Brakes

I am new to this .net, so this might have been covered. Sorry if it was. Anyway, I just bought an SS, 2.4l last week and noticed (after my mad rush to get out of the dealer) that my brakes would shimmy while brakeing hard, almost like I had a warped rotor in the front, which I was almost sure was the case. I decided to just drive it to work for the week and bring it in the following Sat. to the service dept. to get it checked out. More than a littlle disapointed, (we just bought my wife a Malibu Maxx SS and it rocks!), I looked over the owner's manual and noticed that it mentioned a "brake-in" period for brakes. So anyway, Its the following week now and 500 miles later the brakes are fine. Is this common on this model? My wifes Malibu Maxx SS was fine "out of the box" so to speak. Otherwise, It's a nice little car. Also I'd just like to mention that I just got back from the speed shop, and they informed me that seat covers (I work construction and dont want to screw the seats up) wont be out until late April around here(New Jersey). Thank to all who reply.

Welcome to the site! I can't say anything about the brakes though.
