Buzzing in blower

whats up guys i have an 07 SS/SC. Today i noticed a buzzing noise at idle, and when i slowly accelerate i can hear it as well. I did a search and found a bunch of things but no one actually said what fixed their issue. It doesnt sound like the rock in charger its more like when you would put a basball card in ur bicycle spokes. But definately sounds like its coming from the blower. I am a tech and tomorrow i will put the stethascope on it but wanted to see if anyone had the same problem. I have 42k on the clock and ive been running the 2.7 pulley for some time. Doesnt sound like the coupler i was thinking maybe bearing but ive never heard a bearing noise like this. Any input thanks

bump cmon guys i know someone has had the same problem

really i thought people said it sounded like a box of rocks if it were the coupler. But it does sound like its coming from the front of the blower. The coupler was my first guess as well. Any idea where i can get one? and some oil? Im at 42k and never changed it yet. I may as well rebuild the blower too

The blower oil supposedly never needs to be changed and people are gunna argue about how much oil it actually takes but I have read a email from the eaton rep that states that it takes 8 oz "2 bottles" of sc oil. ZZ performance has the coupler and a oil kit that comes with 2 bottles of oil and a syringe to inject it. Hope this helps

Putting new bearings in the blower never hurts either if your feelin frisky

thanks guys know where to get the main bearings for the rotors by chance? If im gonna be in there i may as well do it all. And if an eaton rep said 8oz i cant see how u can argue with that. I know they said it doesnt need to be changed but ive heard stories of guys actually having little to none left in the blower

Mine had a teaspoon left in it with 50000 miles on it. I would say gm probably for the bearings. But your not gunna be able to get the old ones out yourself. I personally have never done it but i think their is a tool to get em out

welp pulled my pulley of and found a bunch of build up under the pulley around the hub. when they dealer installed the original stage two the used a grinder to shave down the hub itself for some reason. But when i went to put the pulley back on and tighten the bolts u cant turn the blower by hand and it makes and awful noise. Its gonna have to go to the dealer. I believe they may have messed something up from day one updates to come

i was pissed. It wasnt the actual snout they machined it was the hub. They took some off around the edges looks like to get the stage two pulley on. Good news is on my lunch break i can back to the house and put my old 2.85 pulley on and the noise went away and runs fine. Bad news is im tuned for the 2.7 and im running alot richer than usual. I have a track day on wed and dont want to lose points for not running so im gona see if nate can overnite me a 2.7in pulley
