Question CA stage 3 bog

just tryin to see who else has had this problem....so about a week ago, me and another tech installed the cobalt addiction stage 3 kit, injen intake, gmpp header and exhaust on his brothers 07 ss/sc. after the intall we test drove it and going into second gear it bogs way down and has a dead miss on cyl. 2. so we brought it back in, tried swapping the plugs and injectors from one cyl to another and it still stayed on cyl 2. we called CA and they just told us to do the same thing we already tried. (not bashing 'em, just stating what they could suggest). so we checked resistance in the harness adapter for the injectors and all the wiring checked out good. then we got out the noid light to check the injectors. when we commanded cyl 2 to fire with the tech 2, cyl 3 fired, when 3 was commanded cyl 2 & 4 would fire. so we checked all the wiring again to make sure the harness was wired correctly and found no problems. so to me it seems like the new pcm has a programming issue if everything else checks out good. like i said it only bogs on the 1-2 shift and has a slight intermittent miss at idle on cyl 2 only. it runs fine under any other conditions. this happened right after the install too, never happened before. so i wanna know if anyone else had this issue before i call them back and try to get another pcm. any help is greatly appreciated.

Nope. I have the stage 4 kit, and have similar problems. Remember it's a boxed tune. Mine is running a little rich, so I'm just going to retune mine, but other than that the car runs decent for now.

i can understand the tune being a little too rich/lean, whatever. but why is the pcm firing cyl 3 when i command cyl 2 to fire with the tech 2? its done with the engine off so the a/f ratio doesnt come into play. i guess most wouldnt have access to a tech 2 so it might be hard to go that far but i just find it odd.

never heard of that before.... you sure nothing is crossed in the harness? or you have the harness on correctly? I've done quite a few stage kits on other cars (and all 6 on mine) and never had that issue come across

yeah the harness is wired up just fine, we checked resistance to make sure none were open or shorted to each other, all that stuff. all the wiring is good. the only thing we can find is that injector firing issue and the bog going into second, otherwise it runs fine for the most part. you would think if it was a constant issue like the wiring it would run like crap all the time. we tried to call CA again today but couldnt get a hold of them so i guess we'll have to try back tomorrow.

I know they were a little backed up today.... open between 10 am and 7pm eastern time.. and usually take a break @12 for lunch.
I work with them on the tuning end of things and I've done 2 07's so far and never came across this problem. You got me stumped cause anything with the tuning wouldn't change the injector firing order. Are you completely sure you have the right wire to the right injector. That's about the only thing I can think of. also, you sent your PCM in right? you told them it was an 07?. I'm guessing you were the one they did last wednesday.

yeah, all the injectors are wired up correctly. they even numbered em to make it idiot proof. but just to make sure we double checked with how it routes back to the factory harness and it was all going to the right wires. its just weird. we checked everything and the only thing left is that the pcm programming went screwy at some point. i realize theyre pretty busy so we arent stressing it that much that we couldnt get in touch today. since you deal with the tuning portion, what would happen if we reflashed the computer to a stock tune through our GM site? would it run like complete **** under easy driving? and if we ever update the computer for recalls or anything like that, will it wipe out the CA tune?

it will run like garbage on the 60's til it completely floods the motor out and kills it. I probably won't even idle. I have no idea what might have happened cept maybe since the car they used was an 06 that they probably plugged your PCM into to write it. But they do have 07 tunes, just hardly and 07 cobalts around here willing to have the PCM pulled to tune another car.
and yes If you update the OS on the car it will wipe out the tune. Seen it happen a few times before. Just take it easy I guess until you figure out the problem. If anything I'll see if I can grab and 07 balt to swing over by them to have your PCM reflashed if it comes down to it

i figured it would wipe it out. it may be the 06 to 07 model year thing considering there was a delay with the gm stage 2 tunes for the 07s so there might be a difference. hes been taking it easy lately, luckily his car is black so it kinda hides that nice black carbon spot on the bumper from the exhuast ha. hopefully we can get in touch with em tomorrow and see what we can do.

I read some where you can put the injector harness on in reverse order that would cause this problem.See if I can find it.
