Cam shaft sensor and misfire... HELP!!!!

I've been fighting with this car for 3 weeks trying to figure out what the issue is with my high, rough idle. When I'm sitting still the tach bounces from 400-1500 in a repeated rythym and sounds like ass. The car you can smell is running rich but my LTFT and STFT show EXTREMELY lean. Currently my wideband is not reading because my guage is fried (Aeroforce interceptor) so I'm waiting on that to be fixed. I've cleaned the tb/maf/map, checked and re-gapped my month old spark plugs (BKR7E's at .030"), replaced the supercharger inlet pressure sensor (the sensor to the top of the inlet on the blower), checked the electrical connection to the tb itself, replaced my first O2, redid my injector flow rates (thanks to SJSchafer's how-to), attempted dialing in my maf. So far everything has helped a little bit, but I sill will stall out at a stop on occasion. I have misfires in all four cylinders. Compression tests show 210-210-210-210, Leak Down was fine.

Last night after replacing my O2 I had po300 (random misfire), camshaft sensor error, and a cyl 3 misfire code all at once. Cleared them and they haven't come back on yet in the 10 miles I drove. But that's probably not enough to trip the CEL. All this happened after fixinf a leaking bolt at my #4 primary after installing my midlength header. The tune I had was on teh car for 2 months w/o issue. I've sense modified it to have better IFR's, and even tried flashing my old 2.6/60# tune to see if it WAS tune related.

Anyone have ANY ideas? I'm going to try replacing or atleast checking my camshaft sensor tomorrow. $26 at Autozone so it can't hurt to replace it.

i had the same problem with an intrepid...if you replace the camshaft position sensor also replace crankshaft position sensor...this helped me...no more erratic idle or stalling at stops...no misfires detected...
but be prepared when there replaced, and you hook the battery back up its going to idle really high...put a load on it run your ac...turn your steering wheel back and forth and the idle will drop back to normal...erase the trouble code and go for a drive around your neighborhood...
speed up slow down different driving conditions so your car can relearn its peramiters ...

how old is your exhaust manifold gasket?? this could be the cause if it is leaking. happened to me once before, replaced that, and now all is good.

Stock gasket. I do have a new one in my closet. Guess it couldn't hurt to try that, although there is no leak there at all

right, there wouldnt be. The LSJ PCV and EGR systems in our motors suck. if the gasket is bent in the least, too must exhaust gas will go back into the motor

when the gasket goes bad, the pcv kind of becomes the egr system, and its not supposed to have one.

You may have cracked or messed up your CAM sensor while you were back there. Retrace all your steps.

Pinched wire maybe? Lost a connection to the sensor. Forgot to plug it in?

if the sensor hasnt been out then it should still be "in time" with the cams. so that wouldnt be causing it. what code did it have?
