Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

This cant be normal..

This cant be normal..

So i was about to detail my motor and engine bay, until i found out my hose is frozen.. then i noticed this.... Kinda a thick film of oil in some spots..This cant be normal right? I tried tightening the valve cover bolts i could get about 3 or 4 turns on them... but i was nervous and didnt want to snap a bolt or break anything.. anone have info on this? car has 17k.

Yeah, as you can tell its only caking up oil in certain spots.. Im not gonna say the bolts were loose but def could be tightened up a bit.

could be that's just where it pooled not necessarily where it came out. I would probably take off the valve cover and see if the gasket is on right.

Yeah but the car is basically brand new. lol Im not gonna say the bolts were loose, but could def. used some tightening up. kinda had me stumped.

recheck the torque on the bolts i.e over torqued ones and under torqued ones.

look's pretty normal to me.
as long as it not dripping oil.
and dont over tighter those nuts, its torque max is 71ftlbs
