Car died!!!

Ugh.. What a friggin day.. I was heading to pick up my little brother from the sitters down a very busy road. I came to a red light, was the first car at it - sat and waited. Went to go, started to roll and my car DIED! So, I pushed back in the clutch, put it in neutral, and went to start it.... IT WOULDN'T START! It would crank and when it went to start, the car would shake violently and die. The RPMs wouldn't go up or the boost gauge wouldn't move. So, my on this busy ass road sitting with my hazards on thinking someone would help me push it out of the way... Nothing. Now, I have a cast on my whole hand up half my arm - I can't push my car and steer. People are driving by screaming at me and I'm just getting enraged. Finally a lady pulls up next to me when the light is red and she called the cops and had them come out. After about 20 minutes of the car not starting, a cop showed up. He came to the window and I told him what was wrong and he pushed me up the road till I could turn off. (There was a curb on side, and no shoulder) Of course, when the cop starts to push - the guy standing off watching decided to help.

So, I get out of the way and the cops asks what its doing - I go to show him and the ******* CAR STARTS RIGHT UP! That just adds insult to injury (or how ever it goes). So, now I feel like ****, I'm raging mad, and on my way to the dealer to bitch.

**** am I pissed off - I swear to god I was on the verge of a heart attack. The car has 2k miles on it, and decides to give me ****!

/end rant

It's still the fact that it did stall out and die. Then about 100 cars had to pass me by as well.... Thats some good rep right there for the SS.

Anyone else experience this or know what it could be?

Just a thought. What octane gas are you using?

I only run Shell premium. I have yet to put anything else in there but Shell gas.

Had the same problem, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't, anychance it started when some one put weight on the front end...

My car was dead in the parking lot, when my cousin was about to push me and leaned on my bumper, I tried one last time to start it and it came right up.

Long story short, I had a short behind the left head light that would cause intermitted start up problems.

The last GM I owned did this and it ended up being the coil. It would start when the coil cooled down and then die when the coil got hot.

/agreed. You can pick up a prepaid cell phone for 30-40 bucks nowadays. Real cheap, no contracts. Just have to put some $ on it every so often to keep the minutes rolling over.

this happened to me once with 900 miles on the car, i dont remember the exact code it threw, but i was the crank position sensor that tripped. i havent had the problem since and i have about 2000 miles past that one incident. If it happens again, the dealer said they would replace the sensor and see what happens next.
