car want stay running
when you go to start it it rev's up to a little over 2k and then drops back down. if you give it gas when its at 2k it bogs down and shuts off. it ran fine when i got to work i shut it off then cam back out and it wouldn't start.

dirty plugs, bad gas, bad tune. Did you check the oil to make sure that it wasn't milky could be head gasket. Who know is show a check engine code by chance if so scan it and find out.

I second this, hence when attempting to rev and ecm is commanding more fuel and air this is no fuel to match the extra air= Fail

i held the injectors out of the car and cranked the car and there spiting fuel out.
and the exhaust smells like gas...... bad tune yes its been running really rich but would it do this out of the blue?

Yes especially if you use cheap gas that or it could have melted I think I may have heard that somewhere.

You need to check your fuel pressure. simply seeing if its spraying isnt enough. make sure your air filter isnt cloggedcheck for faulty TPS, MAF. check for codes look at he condition of your spark plugs

rail pressure is 58psi

when my altenator went my car would start up then shut off but if that was your problem you would probably notice your gauges acting funny or not moving

Its worth a shot if you haven't changed it anywhere in the last 20k miles or so.

I changed mine at 21k after it killed a fuel pump due to being so clogged. I had done a lot of traveling around that time and probably went through a lot of bad gas along the way.
