Clunking
Hi,
I recently put on my summer tires and changed my front and rear brakes. I noticed two days ago that there is an awful clunking noise coming from the rear of the car when I hit a bump with the pasenger side rear tire. I checked the spare tire to make sure it was secured tightly. Checked the sub to make sure it was on tight. Checked the battery to make sure it was tied down. Checked the bearings. Rechecked the brakes. Checked the bushings in the rear and after all that it is still clunking around back there. I did a search on the forum and found that others have had the same problem but I found no solution. Has anyone found the solution?

Probably not the exhaust then.
The wheel bearings are shitty on these cars, I went through like 3 or 4 already. Plus they're covered under the powertrain warranty believe it or not.
If you have a good dealer it wouldn't hurt to bring the car in and have them diagnose/fix the issue. If it's a warranty claim it won't cost you anything.

Looks like thats what I'm going to have to do. I checked everything and tighteng everything but its still clunking back there. But what I don't get is, if it was the bearings I should be getting some play in the wheels when I have the car lifted. Anyway, I'll bring it in.

Np ... I had mine replaced with around 25K on the clock. The top of the spring actually cut threw the rubber insulator on mine .... the replacement from GM looked like a different design than what was on my 06 ..... they must have improved them somewhere along the way. Good luck with it .
