clutch slow engaging?

I don't know what the deal is, but from a stop on a flat surface I should be able to let go of my clutch slowly and move to a steady roll without gas, then when I start rolling I basically let off the clutch semi-slowly and press on the gas after my foot is totally up. RECENTLY I do exactly this and I give it gas and it seems as though the clutch doesn't fully contact the flywheel right away, like a delay so I'm thinking (air in the system?). My brakes aren't the greatest either, but sometimes I will think I'm in the clear and give it gas without the clutch just engaged (just let off of it) and it will start jerking...... I'm really pissed about this and the clunking of my presumed exhaust system, anyone else's clutch do this?

Yeah a few times I noticed that the bottom end of the clutch movement does not seem to do anything and I have to let it out almost completely and hold it for the car to move on a level surface.
