Cobalt fails me 2 of 2

So funny story,
Ended up getting out of work last night at 6pm, rain turned into snow in the Quad city area and I am like great, maybe I should get home before the storm gets to crazy. Well decided that I needed a couple of groceries and stopped at a small convenience store on the trip home.. stopped the car, went inside, bought what I needed to came out, unlocked the car and when I put the key in and turned, all the lights flicked off and the radio glowed with nothing on the display. I sitting there like… wth, so I pulled the key out and put it back in tried again, nothing this time, no lights, no power, no unlocking of doors, no locking of doors, FOB didn’t work, and im sitting there fuming like great now this storm is getting crazy as hell, its cold out and now my car wont start to get me home. Immediately went on CSS.net and checked to see if there was other issues like this, as this didn’t sound like a battery issue or a starting issue, it actually looked like a Anti Theft issue but usually the car would display the anti theft light, but my car didn’t show anything at all.. Basically had a friend drive me home to put away the groceries and then I got my truck to drive back since Onstar was sending a tow truck to the site. Once I got back to the car, I tried to unlock it, and BAM everything worked, lights on, radio worked, windows and locks worked. So I tried to start the car and the same thing happened, lights turned off and radio just had the buttons light up with nothing on the display. Well got the car towed to the dealership and I realized this has to be a Anti theft thing going wrong since the lock cylinder was replaced about 3 -4 months ago. Did anything like this happen to any of you.. does this sound like the key being read wrong by the car and just tripping the Anti Theft mode?

My car had a similar problem but it just turned out to be a loose negative battery cable
