Cobalt Rattles and Squeaks (SS/SC)
Well im the new owner of a silver ss/sc and have not been 100% pleased with the rattle dept. My friend is the new owner of a pontiac G6 and I can say his car does not rattle at all unless going over a huge bump or something.
Is this something im just gonna have to live with owning a SS/SC, id imagine it takes worse to bumps due to the stiff suspension and whatnot. My sunroof rattles, once in a while i hear something from the glove box area and when i go over bumps it seems like the whole car is rattling. My car has just over 3500 miles on it and is an 06. I just dont understand why a new car would have so many creaks and rattles as well as a new squeak that just developed.

[QUOTE=p7x]been sqeakin as long as i can remember. 2 things
"1) get mounts, the vibrations and noise will mask the sqeaks"
Nice one lol, i plan on getting some traction mods and maybe poly mounts but just dont want this car to turn out like my civic where ya had to turn the radio up as loud as possible to just tolerate the squeaks and rattles. To be fair I only really notice the rattles if i have my windows up and radio off, if windows are open or radio on even slightly its not that noticible. Just helps to know im not the only one, other than that i love the car. Was playing with the boost bypass actuator and i think its not fully broken in yet but im finally starting to see 11.5 almost 12 psi on my car where originally I could not break 10. The actuactor doesnt want to close all the way, it feels too stiff still.

Our cars like most econo cars use plastic housings for everything from the dash to the pillars, the only way around this is to replace the housings or put foam tape in there

Ive been getting a list together for the dealer when I take it in. not anything major except for maybe one item.
I would usually do all the fixes myself since Im used to old cars that rattle but this is my first new purchase and I paid for the new car so I want a new car.
The big main thing is my driver seat seems to be loose. not side to side but up and down could be the seat track or something.
second I have a rattle from the package tray area were the rear passanger side seat belt retainer is I can make the noise when I bang on it.
Third my right rear wheel has a gouge in it almost all the way around the wheel. Cpeaking to a couple people from other dealerships they say it is most deffinetly the tire machine mark and people not being careful.
Last over big bumps my hood actually makes noise when I wash it i notice it moves up and down a little bit. Im sure it is a simple adjustment but I figure the reason I bought the car was to keep it stock and not mod it so let the dealership do all the work.
