Cobalt wont run!!!!!
I have a very strange problem and I hope someone can help...
This has been going on for about 3 months now.
Its a 2006 LS with 2.2 ecotec.
I am going to start from the beginning so it will be a little more clear....
Car would all of a sudden just die while running.
Seemed like it was the fuel pump so changed it out....
Still wouldn't start.after 1 day it did start up for a little while and then died again...
after a lot of playing around, tied the ac clutch fuse under hood (left leg) to motor ground,
car ran very well for almost 2 weeks. the only problem I couldn't turn on the A/C, ground wire
would burn almost instantly..So I got smart.(or so I figured) took fuse box completely apart,
found a large trace burned on board. got out the soldering iron. jumped it with a wire directly on the board. removed jumper wire from AC clutch to motor, can ran great!!! AC powered up!!! ran
for 3 days with air conditioning!(without engine jumper wire) died again...
well that brings us to current state, if I wait around 8 hours car with crank...without AC will run for about 14-15 min...with AC only about a minute. tried putting another relay into fuel pump relay
same problem...even jumped 30-87 in fuel pump relay same problem. If you wait several hours it will turn on again...but with the run times above.
I'm in total despair...Its only car and we just had a baby..
Any help greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
