Code P0171 - No MAF found?
Please fix if posted in wrong area.
Ive done all the research i can so thats why im here now. Hopefully one of you can help me get this figured out.
I have a 2005 Cobalt SS.
I currently have a Check Engine light on for the P0171.
My only mods are a intake, Exhaust & Short Shifter.
I read that the code could be because of the MAF sensor. Right away i looked and there's nothing that goes to my intake tubing. I can't even located the MAF sensor anywhere. I tried to look towards the end of the intake where the filter is and i didn't noticed anything.
I'll take pictures very soon and post them back on here.
appreciate any feedback on this.

171 means the fuel trims are too far positive, more than 25% fuel being added. This could be a bad MAF, or too large intake tubing that isn't tuned for, or a vacuum leak, or low fuel supply, or an exhaust leak, or a faulty O2 sensor. Or something more exotic but those are the usual suspects. Start with proper diagnostics, figure out when it's lean (only at idle, all the time, etc) and how lean, see if adding fuel (spray into the intake) causes the O2 to respond. Check for air leaks and exhaust leaks. Check for good quality gas, i've seen cars that have 10-15% water in the fuel set lean codes and have no real other issues.

Plus the ghetto intake thing doesn't sound too right to me.

OP find a stock intake and buy it. Remove the current setup and install the stock intake before doing anything else. Even driving it.

Yeah if your intake is allowing air in after the maf, which based on that horrible setup i'm sure it is, that's probably the cause of your P0171 code. Fix that abortion of an intake first and see how it goes.
