Im having a little trouble, so a couple days ago I bought a 2006 Cobalt SS SC, and the CEL came on and its giving me the code P0481, which is the Cooling Fan Relay 2. So I replaced the relay and im still getting the same code, my coolant temperature ranges from 185-190 on the highway to 190-220 on the city(constant stopping and going). Once the car hits the 222-223 degrees the fans turn on and bring the temperature down to about 187 or so. Is this normal for this type of cars? Or is something else wrong besides the relay? Any ideas where I should start looking for a solution? Thank you!

 

Could be a short or open in the fuse block, wiring, or ecm. Follow the diag chart and reference the fan plug and electrical diagram to pinpoint it.
