Coolant temp issue after adding coolant

I recently noticed my coolant tank was about 3/4 full, so I added in some dexcool antifreeze 50/50 to fill up the tank. I followed the procedure in the manual about leaving the cap off and running the car for five minutes to remove any air from the system. Before I did this, my coolant temp was always 180, regardless of the temperature outside or if I was moving or not. Now I notice it is running in the 200-210 when stopped in traffic or as high as 225 in long stops in traffic. Did adding the new coolant into the old coolant cause a dissociation of the coolants properties? Would draining out all of the coolant and putting in fresh coolant help the issue?

Why did I never see these temperatures before? I've had the car for 6 years

I know the fans work because they come on when it reaches 225 or whatever temperature it is that the first fan comes on at

And this was recently, it was about 50 degrees out. I'm worried what might happen in the summer

Another thing to check is radiator for blockage.

How would I go about doing that? My coolant temps are fine when I'm moving...normally at 180 even. Would they be that low if there was blockage in the radiator?

Bleed it again and wait until the fans kick in, if the coolant level starts getting higher, the bubble is trying to push the coolant out. Turn car off and try again until the fans kick on and the level in the overflow tank stays relatively even. This is what I did.

Thanks, I'll try that in the morning and see if that works. I probably only added 8 oz of coolant to the tank, could that put air in the system?
