Cracked Bellhousing, Trans Making Noise(Sorry 56k)
Basically my clutch went from good, to slipping, to screwed in the course of about a week, I'd blamed it solely on my learning to drive a stick. I dropped the trans as per the GMPD guide and found my bellhousing full of oil.
After most of a can of brake-clean:
Video with grinding noises, these really scare me:

The car was an ICBC(insurance) rebuild, so I'm quite positive I have no warranty and the chop shop I bought the thing from won't touch it.
Wondering what I need to replace/repair, or if the entire trans is dog food. Pretty tempted to go drop in on the show Ferrari at the shop I bought it from.
The trans was missing one of the top bellhousing bolts, so they had it apart and knew damned well that it was toast before they sold it.
Even better:
Looks like stress fractures around the other edges, that whole piece is wanting to blow off and grenade that SOB. It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel like ****.

Anyone know if the bellhousing has a seperate part number and/or the price on one? Then I could install that until it grenades internally like a real trans
If I need http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...-P1886C43.aspx I might as well have the car "stolen"

Nothing close to me and I bought the car used, is there any chance of being covered by GM's warranty? My 2.4 had an extended warranty and that transferred to the new owner as far as I know.
If there's a bright side it's that I'll have a chance at getting a LSD out of it.
VIN #: 1G1AP18P177193647, if I can get it warrantied at least in part I have a chance of keeping the car, if not I'm going to an 88 Suzuki Samurai, somebody shoot me

PS-->Learning to drive stick doesn't equal cracked housing...continual wheel hop and abuse is what causes it. The slipping was from the oil (I'm guessing).
PSS-->Always have a car inspected by a mechanic prior to buying it.

Housing cracked=new tranny.

They don't typically warranty transmissions and certainly won't do it for a: an insurance rebuild and b: a cracked bell housing. Because there's a tsb about it being caused by wheel hop abuse. I'm assuming the title you got was SALVAGE right?

Yeah, they bought the car from the insurance agency, replaced the rear quarter(among other things I wasn't informed of, my passenger doorhandle is red on the underside) and sold it as quickly as they could. So I guess it would be a salvage title in the States, the first owner wrote it off(probably because of the cost of an airbag deployment)
Bank loan for a LSD trans from CED and a pleasant visit to Vancouver Motorsports it is

My 2.4L and $6k
After taking it right apart most of the E10 studs on the clutch are stripped, they either changed it or cleaned the **** out of it and put it back in knowing it was cracked/leaking. You don't pull the trans/clutch in the first 1500kms if there's nothing wrong with it
Waiting on my bank to get back to me about a loan for a new trans w/LSD, /prays
