See the car washing thread in the how-to section. Sponges are bad, use a mitt and make sure it is as clean as can be by cleaning it in a bucket of unsoapy water and then resoaping it in the soapy bucket, don't dry with anything besides microfiber towels and give a good waxing every now and then.

yes if you use some of that **** that is supposed to fix scratches it works great on swirls. It does not repair scratches. I use that... then I wait a day or so and wax my car.

Get the finest polishing compund avalialbe to you. I use meguiares swirl remover or fine polishing compund. When you use it dont rub in a circle go fron to back the length of the vehicle but you would have best results with a buffer.

To get the swirls out the best thing to do is use a high-speed buffer. If u do use this be very careful it will put Serious swirls in your car if u dont use it right, but if used correctly it will look beautiful!

rub your hand over your paint. If your hand dosent slide, you need a good buff. My black one does the same, it used to look like **** in the sun until I buffed it with some clay ontop.

ok. i detail cars for a living. try the scratch-x. i only use Meguiar's products. they're the best. go get there Crystal Paint Formula. its a 3-step program. they're $6.00 a piece. buy the first 2 steps and for the third step, get their Gold Class wax instead. the worst car was my girlfriends. her paint job was HORRIBLE. this stuff works wonders. take my word for it. you wont regret it.

So the million dollar question is, what if you have the black swirl and this is the way it was given to you from the dealer? Do you take it back and bitch to have it fixed or do it yourself?

use the swirl remover, or some hand glaze. but before that, use a claybar, the claybar will take the imperfections out of the paint, which cause the swirls, then the hand glaze will remove the swirls, and also leave you with a deeper, clearer finish. try it, im telling you you will be amazed, do a before and after, leave like half the hood un done with the claybar, and feel the difference, the paint without the claybar will be rough, and feel like it is oversprayed.
