dealer screws up oil change!!
Ok, so I go to get an oil change the other day. No problems right? Wrong................the next day I opened the hood to find out there's no cap on the engine and there's oil all over the whole engine and all over the hood liner. Lucky I checked the next day or I'd have blown up the engine!!!!! How could they possibly f@@k up an oil change????
I got a new oil cap, 2 Free premium oil changes, My cab fare to and from work paid for and a new liner under the hood and engine shampoo'd and my car completely detailed and a jug of windshield washer fluid.
I guess I'll let them live.

My guess is that the cap was not tightened enough or the guy just plain forgot to put the cap back on!!! I told them not to work the tech guy over too badly.........prob. some high school kid or something.

Took mine to Sears for it's first oil change (I had to stop at the mall anyways). They called me up on my cell to tell me they counldn't do the oil change becuase they couldn't find where the filter was. So I came back got my car and left. Next day my car backfires bad, I pull over, pop the hood, and find no cap with lots of oil everywhere. Had my dealership look it over and Sears replace the cap and clean up the engine compartment. Haven't been back there since.

this why if I don't change the oil, my brother changes the oil... as much as he and I don't get along, he's a damn good mechanic. Very thorough, takes his time and makes sure its done right the first time. I hate slapdash, cobbled up ****... I am not interested in 15 oil changes... if it takes you 20 or 30 minutes, fine... I just want it done right.
Case in point, i had a garage put new tires on my Cavalier. It was a 98 Cavalier coupe with 87 Z24 5-spoke aluminums on it (i loved these wheels). I had left the car for the hour it was going to take, came back, picked the car up and took off. up the interstate. Coming back, the car started shaking pretty weird... never felt anything like it, so i start to slow down and the shake gets worse... I stop the car, get out... all 20 lugnuts were loose, about 6 were ready to fall off. I tightened them up on the side of the road and flew back to the garage. To say I was pissed was an understatement. The installer had never torqued the wheels... just hit them with an airgun until they were ok. Those wheels were goofy... they had to be torqued to 125lb/ft or he lugs loosened up... As it turned, two free oilchanges and tank of dead dinos.
Always watch who is working on your car.

My wife used to have a VW Golf, she took it to one of those free standing oil change places. The tech never screwed the oil filter on all the way, lucky her car had an low oil sensor so her engine was safe. Since then I've convinced her to let me do the oil changes. I may not be a mechanic but I take my TIME, and double check everything.

there is a valvoline change station here by my house, my grandmother took her duster there payed the 20 dollars to change the oil and not even 3 hours later she asked me to check her oil and there was NONE in there. They just drained it changed the filter and never filled it back up. My dad said it was just because it burned so much oil old car and lead footed grandmother... so, needless to say we all change our own oil.
Also, my buddy said that to keep his warranty valid they need record that he got all his oil changed at the dealer, is that **** true?

My dealer over-filled my oil, and it leaked out of the oil cap, and then the crank case vent all the way throught my intake, throttle body, and supercharger. NICE!
