i know it was posted a few days ago but are you guys sure its 6.5 quarts of oil bc im reading my owners manual and it only say 6 quarts, which is all iv ever put in mobli 1 or royal purple every time
either way i dont think 1/2 quart is gonna kill anything. im just wondering were you guys got that from

It's just a guideline. Drain the old oil and reinstall the drain bolt, install the new filter and then put the car back down on level ground and add oil until the dipstick reads full. Then start the car, let it run for a minute, shut it off and re-check the level after a few minutes (giving it time to drain back to the pan from the top end), topping it off as needed. I'd never just drain and refill with a specific amount. Overfilling can be worse than running a little low since it can cause aeration of the oil and potentially seal leaks on certain engines.

Got the new intake manifold gasket today.

any advise on if the numbers on it face you or away from you?

the side w/ numbers has what looks like rings around the holes that protrude outward. On the otherside of the gasket the rings around the holes go inward.

The new gasket thats installed has what looks like little imprinted lines around the rectangular holes.. I'm sure there are those of you out there that know the actual term...

haha not anymore!

I figured out the culprit and it wasn'the intake manifold gasket!

my car has all three upgradable solid mounts

well the dipstick comes connected to the oil pan and then fastened to the intake manifold. I undid the bolt that fastens it to the intake manifold. PROBLEM SOLVED!

The car vibed so much it made the dipstick inside rattle and turn its way upward.

thanks for everyone who helped me...

I'm still leaking a smidge of oil thru the valve cover gasket in one area, and a new gasket will be ordered soon for that.
it's not excessive crank case pressure; because i took off the oil cap and put a rag over so nothing spills out, and it still popped the dipstick. only when i undid the dipstick bolt connecting it to the intake mani, did it not rattle itself loose.

AS FOR NOW, MY NEXT HURDLE WILL BE TO LEARN MY HPT AND MAKE A 13 SEC PASS!

It pops because of crank case pressure. umm dsmers always just crimp the metal pipe whre the dipstick goes in around the dip stick. so thats all i know to do. lol.

Edit... atta boy..

ATTA BOY IS RIGHT!!! damn I suck at working on cars! lol... I try and fix one thing and break another haha

Now its time to fix that leaky valve cover gasket before track day on Jan 10th. Bah...
------------------------------

Went logging

in 3rd @ 89 mph, 5597 rpm, 11.6-11.8 ACTUAL AFR: 97* IAT2, 48* IAT1, 0 knock, 63% IDC, 206 Kpa = 15.1 PSI, and a craptastic 13.5* of timing! - This is with the meth off, just 2.7, 3" header back exhaust to a stock muffler, ported blower, CAI, option b w/ dual pass, and cobra H/E

Now its off to the body shop to get plastic surgery thanks to a 78 yr old man who hit my car while it was parked... errr
Once I get it back, I'll mess w/ the tune.
