Driver Door Wont Open
I have been having problems off and on now for a while with the known issues of the driver door not closing due to having to lube the lock parts. Yesterday I came home closed my door and it didn't close. It was because the peace in the door that grabs the hook was stuck down. I put this part back in the up position and the door closed. However when I did this it cause slack in the steel cable and it is no longer hooked up to my door handle so I can not open my door. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this?

The door is unlocked but handles aren't hooked up to the cable the pulls the locking piece. When you pull on the door handle there is not resistance in the handle.

I've had this exact problem a few times. In thus situation I would pull on the handle like I'm trying to pull the door itself right off the hinges and it has opened every time. Just don't be a puss about yanking on the door. Then I spray down the locking mechanism with pb blaster or garage door lube every month or so and I haven't had a problem for a long time now.

I have taken the door panel off once before and felt like that was going to be the answer. You think I should just grip and rip on the door till it opens then?

No, lol. This was a problem when I first got the car.
With a flat palm, bang on the outside of the door where the it the locking mechanism would hinge onto the frame. The mechanism will eventually "loosen" and you'll be able to open the door.
OR
Sit in the car, and lock and unlock the door MANUALLY, until it catches. This doesn't always work. Banging on the outside of the door to get it open did. When you have it open, grease that thing like no other.

What 69 said. I had the same issue. What happens is even when you unlock the door, the little lever on the latch doesn't fall down, which won't let you handles engage. So slap on the outside right where eye latch pin is, use the pass side for reference. O you can lock and unlock it. Once it's open, pull the panel off and lube it, I used white lithium grease. It's been fine for about a year now.
