E brake cable clamp question

Need a little help, picked up a 06 SS, well the e brake cables aren't connected right inside the car. Anyone have a pic of what it's supposed to look like under the plastic piece ? Does the metal bracket that connects to the cables just hang in there ? Not sure if all the pieces are there or what .. The metal piece is just loose inside there doesn't seem to stay connected with the cables keeps falling out .

If the cables are falling out there isn't enough tension to hold them in the bracket, either the rear cables are stretched or the front cable needs to be adjusted. If the rear cables are stretched replace them, adjusting the parking brake will only be a temporary fix until the cables stretch even more. To adjust the tension on the parking brake cables tighten the nut at the other end of the front brake cable. Do not over-tighten the adjustment nut, tighten it enough that with the rear wheel off the ground, and the parking brake up 3 clicks, the wheel is able to barely move, it should be possible to move, but difficult. Ensure that your brakes are not dragging with the hand brake fully released.
