e-brake problem

when i lift the e-brake the metal hook only catches the left cable. the right cable is longer so the metal hook doesnt catch on it , only the left cable which results in my car still rolling on a hill if i dont leave it in gear when park, how do i fix this.

Mine did this, but I was able to get everything lined up so it would catch again. The metal guide piece kept it in line, I just had to fumble with it, just don't yank your e-brake too hard or it will come loose again.. How long is it? If its really bad, try bitching at the dealer.
