Engine Power reduced
my '05 cobalt (base model 2.2 ecotec standard shift) without warning will often experience "engine power reduced". If I shift the car into nuetral, shut it off, take the key out and open and close the door while coasting down the road and wait for the gauges to fall below zero, i can start the car back up and it runs fine until it decides to pull the same thing "engine power reduced". It does this often and runs fine other than this re-occuring issue. I had the codes checked and had several as follows - P0101(mass air flow sensor performance), P0171 (fuel trim system lean-bank 1), P2138(accelerator pedal position sensor 1-2 correlation), P2125(acceleraor pedal position sensor 2 circuit), P1681(driver 5 line 1), P2127 (accelerator pedal position sensor 2 circuit low voltage) and again P2138 (accelerator pedal position sensor 1-2 correlation)...with all this information, where should i start replacing things? I am thinking to replace the pedal sensor, maybe it got wet and shorted out? I don't want to start dumping hundreds here and there and not solve the problem so I am asking for help (hard for a guy to admit, especially a mechanically inclined one)..please and thank you

For those errors you have to be electrically inclined.
Seeing the P2127 Im thinking this is the culprit to all your woes!
You have a wire shorting to ground some where but first check the emiss fuse under the hood to make sure its seated properly.Pull it out and check it and put it back .this fuse feeds all those circuts.
If that isnt it check the wires by the clutch pedal and brake pedal for possinle shortimg to ground(pinched or bare wire)
If you cant find anythimg there look at the wire bundle passing by the motor from the ecm for possible signs of shorting..
Check ecm connectors are on tight(donot pull them off with battery connected)just push on them and make sure they are clipped.
Forgot
Check the pedal assembly wire connectors are good and the wires going into them look good as well.
