Engine Rattle

Hey guys, I know this has been covered a bunch, but I have an 07 Cobalt ss/sc and every now and then I hear the infamous rattle coming from under the hood. The problem is that everytime I hear it and try to take it in, it doesn't make the noise and the dealership won't fix something they can't hear. My question is does anyone have a sound clip of it that is clear that I could take in and what have you guys done to get it fixed? I've heard that it's the super charger coupler or a timing chain. What's going on!!!?!?!

Bump.

i had something like that happen and then it got real bad and it was the timing chain. but ever since i put my spec stage2+ and flywheel in, the clutch rattles.... idk why but it works great so who cares. id say keep driving it until it becomes a real problem if your still under warranty.

Yeah I'm still under warranty luckily. Not for too much longer though. We'll see what's up. It's annoying that I know something is wrong, but it's not consistent enough to be fixed.

I tried to grab a recording of it with my phone, but you could only hear a bunch of nothing really. You couldn't even make out the noise. I'm taking it in and telling them to take it apart and fix it. This is BS.

It's most likely the timming chain Tensioner . They are cheap and it's an easy job to do yourself. If the dealer won't fix it cause they can't hear it ......I would do it myself.

That's what I'm going to tell them. This guy is a good friend of the family so he'll get it taken care of. At least I have some idea of where to point them though.

So I posted a video of this rattle, the video is backwards but you can hear it nice and loud.
