Exhaust Leak???

When I drive my 06 ss/sc it sounds like an air whooshing sound under load. I have only modified my muffler to a flowmaster. I have taken it in to the dealership and they could not find a leak anywhere. I even asked the service manager to look it over and he could not find one either. I have had the flowmaster for about a year with no problems. this problem just started a couple weeks ago. i plugged the exhaust tip with a rag and the car doesn't stall out and i am unable to find a leak myself as well. it sounds like it is coming from the cat/flex pipe area. Is the car supposed to die if i plug the exhaust with a rag because thats what I thought and if i do plug it and it doesn't die does that mean air is escaping somewhere else? also my exhaust is vibrating slightly more that it used to and it gets even worse when i turn on the air conditioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

When you get an exhaust leak, your car is going to sound very loud and very bad haha. It is possible that your leaking at the flew pipe, but then again you are stock there still. Bump for some help for you.

My money is on the stock flex pipe crapping out. Mine started to leak on me a little bit and it made a air "whoosh" noise untill i blew a 2"-3" hole out of it and was running open headers.

luckily, a good friend of mine is letting me use his stock DP while i order something nicer to replace it (ZZP mid-length header/DP combo. giggity giggity!)

Was getting funny noise from exaust and dealership could not find problem. Noise was not that bad at first but soon became loud and embarracing. Like U said, only during acceleration. Took it back to dealership and it was a crack on the top of the flex pipe. My ss has made a lot of funny noises in the 50k that i've had it. But that was definately the worst of all.

have em check the downpipe. I'll bet 99% that's your problem. I've gone through two of em since ive had my balt...one when all I had was an intake and recently now that I have stage 2. i believe it comes from the engine moving too much.
