fearing thw worst...
Yea, couple hours ago i was totally fine with my car. Just finished doing a tune up it, running awsome.
I was hearing this noise for about a week now. Never inspected or started with the hood open till today.
Wtf could this be?
My oil is right at / maybe a little over the Max line. So theres no shortage, but maybe too much?
I have the camera pointed at where i believe it is the loudest ( that side of the engine )
Also i can NOT make it do this, it runs perfect fine. it ONLY does this on start up, when it reachs 1500 rpm or so, THEN when the rpm is dropping to the 700 idle rpm it makes this noise. And noise stops when reachs an idle

touch a screwdriver to the timing case, and put your hand over the end and then your ear, use it like a stethoscope. Then start the car with your remote start and listen for the rattle in the timing case. Sounds like you might need a timing chain tensioner.

i totally agree. Assuming you are high mileage, i assume it's chain stretch.

And ok, im mechanically inclinded enough to do all my own **** always have. I dont like payin $90 an hour to some old guy, so yea
How big of a job is that on these cars ? Should i wait till it goes for good?
So no ive never done one before but i absolutly love learning and tearing **** apart. I already decided if te motor blows im gunna rebuilld it. And throw some other upgrades while im in there.
Unless ofc a rod goes through the block, or a cylinder is scortched. Ill make that call IF it ever happens

If you wait till it goes for good, then your gonna be replacing the entire motor. lol As far as i know as long as you have the tool for the top cam alignment then its just as easy as doing a timing belt on a honda.
